Altronic has long been regarded as the world's leading manufacturer of ignition and control systems for industrial engines largely used in the oil and gas industry. Our products represent the industry standard for quality, which are all designed to improve engine performance and enhance reliability. Altronic is seeking a Systems Engineer to take full ownership of embedded electronics projects for the industrial stationary engine market. This is a hands-on role where you will serve as the technical lead for major product development initiatives - from initial concept through production release and field support.
You will be responsible for guiding a small team to complete projects end-to-end: defining system architecture, making critical technical decisions, coordinating cross-functional efforts (hardware, firmware, mechanical, compliance), and actively contributing to electronics hardware design. Ideal candidates combine strong systems-level thinking with practical electronics engineering skills, enabling them to both architect robust, mission-critical control systems and personally design high-reliability circuit boards that survive decades in harsh industrial environments.
This position is perfect for an engineer who thrives on ownership, enjoys balancing big-picture strategy mixed with the details of circuitry and software.

1977 The plant was physically expanded by an additional 2000 sq ft.
1981 Production facilities were doubled to 24,000 sq ft, with an additional 4,000 sq ft acquired the following year in a nearby facility to house the new digital instrument division.
1984 The Altronic Division of the Economy Engine Company became Altronic, Inc.
1986 The digital instrumentation production facility was enlarged to 16,000 sq ft.
1988 Altronic Controls, a wholly-owned subsidiary, was established in Garland, Texas, to design and manufacture customer gas compressor monitoring and control packages.
1994 A major expansion combined the two separate production facilities into a single, 52,000 sq ft plant.
1996 An 8,500 sq ft Engineering and Development Center was constructed on newly-acquired land near the production facility.
2006 State-of-the-art ignition coil manufacturing was initiated in the Girard facility in a new 12,000 sq ft production area.
2009 Altronic was purchased by HOERBIGER Holding AG, Zug, Switzerland and became the lead plant of the new Engine Solutions business unit.
2010 Altronic, Inc. transitioned to Altronic, LLC. and an 8,500 sq ft addition to the Engineering facility was made to house the Altronic Sales and Service departments.
