The CMV Truck Driver position is expected to work as a valued member of the shipping and receiving department. This job will primarily consist of operating a box truck and only carrying product to and from Sparta plant locations while utilizing public roadways. The CMV Driver must follow our company Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Safely operate any machinery, tools, vehicles or equipment used.
  • Perform user maintenance reports on before, during and after use of company vehicle
  • Maintain all required CMV certifications by DOT and OSHA to drive box truck
  • Move material and product as ordered by supervisor
  • Perform any other warehouse related tasks assigned by supervisor
  • Monitor material usage on work floor and supply production lines with raw materials and finish goods
  • Load trucks and secure product in accordance with customer requirements
  • Keep production areas supplied with raw materials
  • May be responsible for the cleanliness of trucks and work area
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
    Comply with DOT and company operating standards
  • Always on time and courteous to our customers.
    Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs. 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to warmer or colder than normal temperatures.  This position requires the employee to be exposed to outside weather conditions year round. Proper use of PPE is required at all times.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be regularly required to:

  • Communicate with warehouse staff and supervisor to determine product movement
  • Operate motorized vehicle/box truck
  • Remain in stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Move and position up to 50lbs of material and products
  • Ascend/descend by use of ladder to access materials/products
  • Position self to access lower-level machinery and/or products

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year truck driving experience preferred
  • Must also have good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Current OSHA forklift driving certification preferred
