Job Summary: Provides all guests with the highest quality dining experience possible. Takes orders and delivers food and drinks in a professional and efficient manner.

Applicants must be 18 years of age.

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $17.00- $22.07 per hour

Job Details:

  • Seasonal, full-time and part-time positions available at multiple venues at Palisades Tahoe

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Provide customers with top quality customer service in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Present menus, explain how various menu items are prepared, and describe ingredients and cooking methods. 
  • Inform customers of daily specials.
  • Check patrons' identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Properly open and pour wine at tableside
  • Place order using POS system.  Communicate with kitchen of special needs or if a menu item is not available
  • Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
  • Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
  • Clear tables, deposit plates and utensils in bus tubs, dispose trash and wipe tables clean 
  • Assist food runners as needed. Carry food orders from kitchen to customers, fill drink orders, fill customer requests
  • Restock condiments, utensils, napkins, cups and other items as needed
  • Sweep floor, pick up trash  
  • Assist kitchen staff as needed.

Required: 

  • Effective communication skills, oral & written
  • Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness
  • Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards
  • Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Able to remain patient, calm and composed in a fast paced, high volume demanding environment.

Preferred:

  • Knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu, restaurant and Palisades Tahoe or be able to locate information.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years serving experience
  • Must have or be able to obtain a California Food Handlers card.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually loud.
