PURPOSE OF POSITION:  The Empire Assistant Pastry Chef is responsible for the production of baked goods and pastries for Empire restaurants, wholesale bakery accounts, and special orders. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Produce "Deer Valley" quality baked goods consistently 

  • Use standard recipes and designated procedures to produce baked goods 

  • Execute banquet event orders, ensuring that all food is prepared as specified in the banquet sheets 

  • Assist pastry chef with menu planning and scheduling 

  • Direct and assist the bakery crew 

  • Maintain a sufficient inventory of baked goods and order new supplies as needed 

  • Ensure that prepped food and leftover products are wrapped and labeled, with date and use by date  

  • Ensure that products are stored and rotated appropriately 

  • Understand and follow proper food handling for prevention of food-borne illness and food allergies. 

  • Keep food costs in line through efficient menu planning, proper ordering, and the creative use of leftover products/mise en place 

  • Mail wholesale and special-order bills on a daily basis 

  • Other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Baking and/or restaurant experience required 

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: 

  • January - April 2026 

PAY RATE: 

  • Pay: $26.00 per hour
