<p>The Design Engineer is responsible for tooling and solution design across multiple product or process variations within the automotive industry. This role focuses on developing robust design solutions, validating performance against defined targets, and ensuring designs meet quality, cost, and manufacturing requirements.</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities</p>
<p>Design and develop tooling and engineering solutions across multiple design variations</p>
<p>Evaluate and compare design alternatives to identify optimal solutions</p>
<p>Validate design results through analysis, testing, and/or simulation to ensure performance meets targets</p>
<p>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and program management</p>
<p>Ensure designs comply with automotive standards, specifications, and best practices</p>
<p>Support prototype builds, trials, and design iterations</p>
<p>Document design assumptions, calculations, and validation results</p>
<p>Identify and resolve design issues, risks, and trade-offs</p>
<p>Required Skills & Qualifications</p>
<p>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, or related field)</p>
<p>Experience with tooling design and engineering solution development</p>
<p>Strong understanding of automotive product or manufacturing processes</p>
<p>Ability to manage multiple design variations and evaluate trade-offs</p>
<p>Proficiency with CAD and engineering analysis tools</p>
<p>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills</p>
<p>Effective written and verbal communication skills</p>
<p>Preferred Qualifications</p>
<p>Experience in automotive tooling, fixtures, or production equipment</p>
<p>Familiarity with design validation methods (DFMEA, PFMEA, testing, simulation)</p>
<p>Experience supporting production launches or continuous improvement initiatives</p>
