ALS Minerals is internationally recognised as the global leader in providing geochemical sample preparation, analytical procedures, and data management solutions, with its European hub lab based in Loughrea, Co. Galway.

We are currently seeking applications to join our Sample Preparation Department on the Evening Shift (15:30 – 00:00) Monday to Friday.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Help manage the process of sample preparation workflow as the samples arrive in the lab.
• Maintain shift production levels and ensure sample preparation work meets required turnaround time.
• Maintain close liaison with Supervisor and other lab staff to ensure the smooth delivery of our services to clients.
• Identify internal and external problems when they arise.
• Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Basic Mechanical aptitude.
• Organized and highly motivated individual.
• Detail oriented individual with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time critical issues.
• Intermediate English communication skills both written and verbal.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.
• Be clean-shaven to wear protective equipment.

Initial contract is 12 months in duration but will be extended if the candidate is successful in the role.
