The role

We are establishing a 24-month appointment pool for upcoming vacancies and are seeking expressions of interest from motivated and skilled individuals to join our laboratory team as Laboratory Technicians.

You will be joining our ALS Environmental team in Wangara, where we are dedicated to exceeding client expectations by consistently delivering high-quality results on time.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals to contribute to a dynamic laboratory team while building their career in science.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and analysis of soil, water, and marine sediment samples for a variety of tests throughout

  • Ensuring that analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with the ALS Quality Work Instructions, including QA/QC

  • Organizing designated tasks to maximize daily efficiencies

  • Completing all tasks and analyses within both the time set down by the supervisor and the relevant analysis standard

  • Highlighting anomalies in results, sample type, and sample behaviour

About you:
We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a genuine interest in the science industry, preferably with a BSc in Chemistry, Environmental Science (or similar), or a TAFE qualification in Laboratory Techniques

  • Are physically fit and prepared to carry out manual tasks, as these roles can be physically demanding

  • Have access to reliable transportation and are able to work day or afternoon shifts (including weekends) as required

  • Can follow established procedures accurately

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail

  • Are willing to work as part of a high-performance team with a strong focus on quality and safety
