About this role

Essential Responsibilities

  • Accurately conduct pre-shift inspections and workplace exams daily
  • Ability to work from heights up to 120 feet
  • Ability to work in high stress, fast paced environment
  • Load trucks to specified weight using computer loading program
  • Visually inspect trucks from on top; looking for any contamination
  • Contamination could be but not limited to sand, concrete, asphalt, fertilizer, grain and resin dust
  • Record truck/trailer information on truck tickets accurately
  • Ensure scale tickets are completed with appropriate information
  • Responsible for general housekeeping throughout loadout, conveyors, and silos using dingo, skid steer, brush, and brooms/shovels
  • Operate machinery in a safe productive manner
  • Unload pneumatic and belly dump trucks
  • Collect and/or assist QC Techs in testing sand samples for sieve analysis and corresponding documentation
  • Accurately report shift activities and tons pulled from silos on shift reports
  • Conduct general PMs of all loadout equipment
  • Perform some plant maintenance as directed, including assisting shift mechanic with repairs as extra set of hands
  • Assist truck drivers with data entry
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Previous experience loading trucks is preferred
  • Previous experience operating a skid steer loader, forklift, bobcat or other small power equipment preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication skills between co-workers, office staff, and other departments in the facility is a must
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred
  • Follow safe work practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as described during training
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly work area

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, stoop, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
  • Ability to operate hand controls with both hands
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment, foot pedals with both feet
  • Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather
  • Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels
  • Ability to work in cramped quarters
  • Lift objects of various dimensions and weights
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, carry up to 150 feet
  • Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 150 feet
  • Vision: normal depth perception, vision and ability to distinguish color

Working Conditions

  • All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty
  • Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs
  • Safety-sensitivity position

All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
