About this role
Overview
A high-caliber engineering team is seeking a Member of Technical Staff with a strong foundation in design engineering. This role sits at the intersection of product design and frontend engineering, with the majority of work contributed to open-source projects.
You’ll collaborate closely with deeply technical peers—senior engineers, compiler contributors, and research-driven builders—while owning meaningful UI and workflow decisions end-to-end.
What You’ll Do
Lead complex design initiatives from concept to production—Figma → prototype → shipped UI
Build and refine user interfaces in React, contributing production-quality pull requests
Design developer-first workflows and interfaces from first principles
Contribute extensively to open-source codebases
Collaborate across the stack and expand your technical scope as needed

Strong design instincts with a track record of solving hard, ambiguous design problems
Comfortable owning large initiatives—from ideation through deployment
