Camp Activity Manager
Alpadia Language Schools, 2026
As a full-time, seasonal manager of Alpadia Language School’s language immersion camps, I served as the direct supervisor for a team of Activity Leaders working with 13-17 year old students from across the globe. My 24-hour responsibilities included line managing the activity team by creating schedules and assignments, contributing to performance evaluations, risk managing programs, liaising with external providers, and ensuring the overall quality and developmental impact of a wide range of cultural and language immersion camp programs. Working in an innovative, fast-paced, highly collaborative work environment also allowed me to develop crucial competences in solution-focused staff management, servant leadership, child development and experiential education.
The Assistant Camp Manager is expected to collaborate with the Camp Manager in ensuring the efficient management and smooth running of the camp. Through working closely with the Camp Manager in supervising teaching and activity staff, the Assistant Camp Manager shares the responsibility for meeting Alpadia’s ambition of an enjoyable and developing camp experience for all students, in an atmosphere that is both respectful, inspiring and safe. The Assistant Camp Manager is directly responsible for supervising activities and excursions programme and managing the Activity Leader team, creating activity schedules, managing risks, corresponding with external activity partners, and more.
Essential Criteria
Experience in staff management and leadership in a professional setting.
Experience working with children or young people in a professional capacity
Some German proficiency (spoken B1-B2 minimum) and ability to liaise with activity providers
Fluency in English
High level self-sufficiency, growth mindset, and proven track record of solution-oriented problem solving skills
High physical, mental and emotional resilience
High energy level, excitement and comfort speaking in front of large groups
Availability during management training in Berlin (June 10-17, 2025), and the entire summer season (June 24-August 9)
Desired Criteria
Fluency in German and English
Experience in outdoor education or summer camps
Driver’s License, and ability to drive a minivan
