Job Description

As a Security Officer - Media Campus Patrol Driver in Lakeland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading technology and communications location as an unarmed patrol officer in a driving post. You will conduct routine vehicle patrols across assigned areas, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. With an agile, reliable, and innovative team, you will deliver through teamwork, communicate professionally, and act with integrity while providing outstanding customer service.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout technology-focused facilities, including interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas and perimeter lines. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying credentials, directing visitors, and maintaining visitor sign-in and badge processes per site policy.
  • Monitor CCTV systems, intrusion alarms and/or other access control platforms, and report irregular activity according to post orders.
  • Complete routine perimeter checks for unsecured doors, gates, loading areas and equipment rooms, and help to deter unauthorized access and/or theft.
  • Provide clear directions and assistance to employees, vendors and drivers, including traffic and pedestrian flow support during peak activity periods.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, requests for assistance and unusual observations in written reports and/or electronic logs.
  • Communicate professionally with Allied Universal supervision and site contacts using radios, phones and/or other approved communication tools.
  • Support site drills and emergency response activities such as fire alarms, evacuations, severe weather notifications and medical response coordination per training and post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
