Job Description

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Driver in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help manage entry points at a dynamic location by greeting visitors, verifying credentials, issuing badges, and monitoring cameras and alarm activity. You will stay highly visible, document security-related events, and communicate clearly with site teams to help reduce incidents while delivering strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, supporting reliable, agile teamwork with integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors while following site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies.
• Control entry and exit points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing sign-in and/or sign-out logs, and directing guests to approved locations.
• Monitor alarms, access control panels, and surveillance systems as assigned, and report irregular activity according to post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and documenting actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
