Job Description

As a Security Officer - Data Center Patrol Driver in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech campus, you will conduct routine rounds indoors and outdoors, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and provide responsive customer service to employees and visitors. This is a driving post, so you will use a company vehicle to support patrol coverage, report concerns, and communicate clearly. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to the appropriate contacts per site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout tech campus buildings, common areas, and perimeter routes as assigned, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management processes, including greeting, directing, and verifying authorization per site requirements.
  • Perform access control duties such as checking identification, confirming permissions, and/or verifying deliveries while maintaining a professional, customer-focused presence.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other building systems when assigned, and report unusual activity according to site procedures.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and service requests in written and/or electronic reports, including detailed observations and actions taken.
  • Assist with traffic flow and pedestrian movement during peak times, special events, and/or scheduled deliveries as directed by site procedures.
  • Support emergency response activities such as evacuations, shelter-in-place, and/or medical response coordination by following site instructions and contacting appropriate resources.
  • Communicate clearly with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership, providing timely updates and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Conduct perimeter checks of doors, gates, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations.
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance and provide directions, information, and assistance to promote a positive client and visitor experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Have at least 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • - Be at least 21 years of age.
  • - A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • - A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • - CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
