Job Description

As a Security Guard - Patrol Driver Utilities in Sandy Level, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols and monitor assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents. Your visible presence and excellent customer service will contribute to a welcoming environment for all. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order at the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying credentials as required by site procedures.
• Communicate professionally with visitors, employees, and/or contractors to provide assistance and information as needed.
• Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly, in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
• Remain alert and attentive to surroundings while performing patrols and other assigned duties within the utilities environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
