THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Sales, US & Canada
JOB TITLES REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: Field Sales Engineer
ROLE: Plan, organize, manage and monitor the regional territory field sales
engineers (FSEs).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct the efforts of the field sales engineers and manufacturer representatives.
Work with the Director of Sales, US & Canada to establish sales goals for each sales territory.
Work with the territory managers to develop business plans to achieve the approved sales goals.
Monitor territory sales performance against goals and take appropriate corrective action when required.
Recruit and recommend the placement of new territory managers for any open territories within the region.
Supervise the orientation of all new territory managers.
Recommend to VP of M&S any distributor changes as endorsed by you from the territory managers.
Recommend territory management changes, when applicable.
Implement and maintain a competitive intelligence system within the region.
Represent the Company at all key OEM accounts within the region. Monitor the sales call of the territory managers on all OEM accounts within each territory.
Attend key trade shows both regionally and nationally as authorized by the VP of M&S.
Work with the territory managers to maintain a list of all end users per territory.
Recommend changes to field sales policies, when appropriate.
Monitor the territory manager business reports and itineraries.
Conduct appropriate performance appraisal reviews with the FSEs. Maintain a development plan for all FSEs within the region.
Establish and maintain AMEC business relations with key distributor management and key end user principals within the region.
Provide marketing data from the region, when requested.
Provide a monthly business report to the VP of M&S as per the approved format
Work on special projects as assigned by the VP of M&S.
QualificationsEducation:
2 year Engineering or Technology degree, 4 year degree preferred
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in sales to the metal cutting industry. Prior sales
management experience is preferred.
Skills:
Must have strong interpersonal skills.
Have good communication skills - both oral and written.
Have good analytical skills.
Be able to help solve engineering related problems.
