Key Responsibilities

• Educate patients and their families by providing preoperative, postoperative, and ongoing health teaching.
• Administer medications, including oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections, and accurately document all dosages and times.
• Deliver ancillary medical care such as wound dressing, enemas, douches, alcohol rubs, massages, and application of compresses, ice bags, or hot water bottles.
• Monitor and record vital signs to maintain patient stability.
• Support patient nutrition by checking food trays for prescribed diets, feeding patients, and tracking food and fluid intake and output.
• Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, walking, and turning.
• Observe and promptly report any adverse reactions to medications or treatments to nursing supervisors.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring items like catheters, tracheostomy tubes, and oxygen supplies are available and ready for use.

Requirements

• Current and valid LPN license in the state of Wisconsin.
• Up-to-date TB certification.
• Reliable transportation.
