What You’ll Do

As a Lead Engineer, you’ll be responsible for leading the design and development of new products or product variants, ensuring business, customer, and technical requirements are met. Working closely with the Delivery Manager, Principal Engineers, and project teams, you’ll plan and manage design activity, distribute and track work packages, and provide clear technical direction to engineers and external design partners. You’ll oversee design delivery against project plans, lead design reviews, manage engineering change, and support new product introduction across UK and international build sites.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced PSV / vehicle design engineer with the capability to lead complex engineering programmes and guide multi‑disciplinary design teams. You’ll bring strong system‑level engineering experience, a structured and process‑driven approach, and the confidence to make technical decisions that balance quality, cost, weight, and programme delivery. Excellent communication skills, proven problem‑solving ability, and a passion for continuous improvement are essential, as is the ability to work effectively across cultures and locations.

Bonus if you have:

• Extensive experience in PSV or heavy vehicle design and manufacture
• Experience leading internal and external engineering teams
• Strong knowledge of product development lifecycles, change control, and compliance standards
• Experience supporting new product builds at international manufacturing sites
