We are hiring a Strategic Partnership Manager who will be responsible for accelerating contact lens growth, developing and building trusting business partnerships with high opportunity customers, presenting new ideas and initiatives to them, and deploying category support and leadership, generating significant Contact lens category growth and Alcon share of sales with the individual franchises.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Evaluate and assess each target practice (high opportunity, low Alcon market share) for their capability, feasibility, willingness, and hard commitment to realising growth and change.  Responsible to unlock next tier of doors (min 50) to gain hard commitments and access for Alcon growth.
  • Working with the Key Account Manager, creates map of director’s store ownership and affiliation in addition to influence mapping 2x a year. Ensures all information is documented internally and accessible to sales leadership.
  • Creates and strengthens the contact lens strategy and builds trust and relationships quickly with KOLs.
  • Generates new business by identifying and pursuing target customers.
  • To develop, with the Customer Partnership team, a bespoke best practice programs to compliment and where possible enhance head office objectives and initiatives for franchisees success.
  • Establishing practice level Joint Partnership Plan which can then be jointly implemented by Alcon's Practice Solution Managers and the customer's practice staff, which in turn generates category growth and drives Alcon percentage participation of category at store level.  
  • Develop and implement category strategies and plans to achieve sales and profit targets for a defined list of specific practices.
  • A growth driver who can identify opportunities, influence decisions and execute at pace. A partner to the customer who balances supplier growth with category credibility.
  • Identify best practices in the customer journey and provide bespoke and defined solutions to address acquisition of new wearers, increasing frequency and weight of purchase in practice and influences customer category strategy through store insights and understanding to maintain and retain all existing patients in the short, medium, and long term.
  • Use extensive operational expertise to take to and execute latest ideas in customer’s practices.
  • Train Alcon PSM’s and Alcon BDMs in all aspects of required activities to be activated and completed within specific practices. Co-ordinates and deploys PSM/Snr. BDM resource in line with each JPP.
  • Reach agreement with each practice on tailored activities to be completed and provide framework for a practice based JPP with suggested implementation dates, planning schedule and agreed KPI’S
  • Effectively communicate definitive ideas and solutions to new and existing franchisees
  • Facilitate best-in-class customer journeys for individual practices identifying bottle necks and opportunities.
  • Implement effective practice development activities (Clinical success, patient education, practice excellence and marketing support) to increase the penetration of contact lenses, and the conversion to the Alcon portfolio of Vision Care products.
  • Ensure that the Alcon Vision Care portfolio will be at the foundation of all growth and success, so Alcon’s business share always grows significantly in partnership with targeted accounts.
  • Aligns Alcon solutions to the long-term success of each customer
  • Create a pipeline management forecast tool with challenging timelines, critical success benchmarks and forecasted sales growth trend
  • Maintain a pulse on the market trends, competitor activities and changes in customer needs to refine sales strategies

What you’ll bring to Alcon:

  • Outcome driven approach and an ability to translate high level strategy into executable plans
  • Clinical experience relevant to the position (Optometrist, CLO etc)
  • Degree level educated relevant to role (Optics, Business Management etc)
  • Sound commercial judgement and negotiation skills
  • Strategic independence to relationship building whilst building credibility in your thinking with customers
  • Resilience and an ability to constructively challenge
