As a Vision Care Sales & Brand Manager supporting our South Africa Vision Care Franchise and Independent Optometrist Channel, you will be trusted to drive commercial excellence, strengthen customer partnerships, and lead a high‑performing sales team across the region. You will shape and execute operational plans that accelerate growth of Alcon’s Vision Care portfolio while ensuring full compliance and strong cross‑functional collaboration.
A typical day in this role will include:
- Collaborating with the Franchise Head, Product Manager, and Professional Education & Development teams to build and execute marketing and commercial plans that grow market share and revenue.
- Leading and developing the Optometrist Channel Sales Team, ensuring strong performance management, coaching, and in‑field execution.
- Driving sales growth and distribution across the independent optometrist channel, supported by accurate forecasting, robust S&OP inputs, and clear reporting.
- Managing new product launches, A&P budgets, and operational plans to maximize brand performance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Building strong customer and KOL relationships, representing Alcon at congresses, customer events, and strategic distributor meetings.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON
- University degree in Science, Optometry, Marketing, or Business (Optometry preferred).
- 3–5 years of field sales, brand management, or related commercial experience in healthcare or consumer products.
- 12–18 months experience in product, marketing, or commercial execution roles.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of marketing principles.
- Experience with forecasting, S&OP processes, and sales performance tools.
- Ability to manage budgets, product launches, and cross‑functional projects.
- Comfortable presenting, coaching, and engaging with customers and internal teams.
- Passionate ownership and drive for results.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational agility.
- Customer‑focused mindset with high ethical standards.
- Ability to motivate others and build energizing interactions.
