As a Director, Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible to develop global sourcing strategies that drive cost reductions, alternative suppliers, and business continuity within our Surgical Franchise. You will trust to lead procurement strategy and execution to support site and franchise objectives. This role drives cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk mitigation through innovative sourcing strategies. As a key business partner, you will lead a high-performing team and collaborate across functions to deliver sustainable value and operational excellence at our Houston, TX location.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Serve as the primary procurement interface for the Houston site, ensuring alignment with business and operational objectives.

• Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Lead supplier performance management, including QBRs for top suppliers based on spend and criticality.

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies and alternate supplier sources in collaborating with Engineering team that ensure cost competitiveness, business continuity, and innovation.

• Lead supplier performance management, including quarterly business reviews (QBRs) for critical suppliers.

• Own site-level budgeting and spend variance analysis in partnership with Finance, Materials and Global Procurement.

• Ensure contract coverage, supply and pricing agreements.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

• 10 Years of Relevant Experience

• 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership

Preferred qualifications:

• Progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management, including leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams.

• Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract governance.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and manage stakeholders effectively.

• Experience in raw material and component‑specific sourcing within a manufacturing environment, including exposure to Asia‑based suppliers.

• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office tools.
