Counter Sales Associate

Come join one of the fastest-growing independently owned distributors in Northern California! Alameda Electrical Distributors & California Service Tool are looking for a full-time Counter Sales Associate to support our branch in Hayward, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Assist customers (in person or over the phone) during the sales process; up sell complementary products
• Correctly enter the customer order in the computer system
• Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information (including product catalogs, price sheets, etc.), merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements; market all products sold and suggest replacement/alternative products when appropriate
• Maintain a working knowledge of the entire sales process from start to finish (including the order, billing, delivery and payment processes)
• Assist in maintaining the counter, merchandising and product display area assuring a safe, clean and orderly environment; assemble and stock product displays and shelves and prepare customer refreshments
• Assist in warehouse duties such as stocking, labeling shelves, restocking show room, inventory of goods, cycle counting, etc. in a manner which assures an orderly and safe work environment
• Assist with the shipping and receiving processes as needed including training on the UPS shipment process
• Occasionally operate a forklift to assist in warehouse duties

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in the electrical industry and/or familiarity with electrical equipment and power tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with warehouse and delivery operations
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Ability to work a Monday - Friday 6:00 a.m. -2:30p.m. schedule
• Overtime may be required as needed
