Job Purpose

What is the primary purpose of this job? Describe main objectives.

• Laboratory and Technical skills: Preparing samples, reagents, and solutions; operating and maintaining analytical instruments (like GPC, FTIR, GC MS, DSC, UV-Vis-NIR and TGA). Hands on experience to handle critical physical equipment like VDA, NSS, Humidity Chambers, QUV resistance chambers, Hot steam clean test, Stonechip resistance, Cupping and flexibility testers and Weatherometer etc.
• Data analysis: Interpreting test results, identifying chemical compounds, and evaluating experimental success.
• Documentation and reporting: Recording findings, Calibration Certificates, writing reports, and contributing to research papers.
• Quality and compliance: Adhering to health and safety protocols.
• Problem-solving: Investigating issues, such as Raw materials contaminations, impurities in paint and its cured film properties variations etc using analytical techniques to find solutions. 
• Ensuring Calibrations done on time for all listed equipment’s within its due date
• In addition to that Candidature should be able to perform in Global Product development, Global Product Maintenance / Solutions, Production support, customer complaints handling, and cost reduction of existing product lines which is mainly related to Automotive and Specialty coatings.

• Laboratory and Technical skills: Preparing samples, reagents, and solutions; operating and maintaining analytical instruments (like GPC, FTIR, GC MS, DSC, UV-Vis-NIR and TGA). • Data analysis: Interpreting test results, identifying chemical compounds, and evaluating experimental success. Strong Chemistry knowledge to analyse and report on paint related issues, Raw materials variations and cured complaint batches analysis etc.
• Documentation and reporting: Recording findings, Calibration Certificates, writing reports, and contributing to research papers.
• Quality and compliance: Adhering to health and safety protocols.
• Problem-solving: Investigating issues, such as Raw materials contaminations, impurities in paint and its cured film properties variations etc using analytical techniques to find solutions. Expertise in FMEA and in Root cause analysis via 8D process.
• Ensuring Calibrations done on time for all listed equipment’s within its due date
• In addition to that Candidature should be able to perform in Global Product development, Global Product Maintenance / Solutions, Production support, customer complaints handling, and cost reduction of existing product lines which is mainly related to Automotive and Specialty coatings.
• Developing Undercoats, Solventborne Basecoats, Waterborne Basecoats, Topcoats, and Clearcoats via Stage Gate process.
• Product enhancement and incremental development based on the requirement and the wishes of the internal and external customers via Global Lab Work Requests issued by Project Leader / Product Management.

List the essential educational qualifications, relevant experience and required skills.

Experience and Education:

• Minimum 5 -7 years’ experience in Coatings, Analytical testing and instrument handling such as GPC, FTIR, GC MS, DSC, UV-Vis-NIR and TGA
• M.Sc., Chemistry / M.Sc., Analytical Chemistry / PhD in Chemistry
