About this role

The Transportation Supervisor leads daily operations of the flight crew shuttle program, overseeing Transportation Dispatchers and Shuttle Drivers. This role ensures the safe, timely, and efficient transport of flight crews while maintaining compliance with airport regulations, company policies, and high standards of customer service.

 

The Supervisor may also fill in as a Dispatcher or Shuttle Driver as needed and plays a key role in supporting operational continuity during callouts, absences, or high-demand periods, working closely with the Transportation Manager.


Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor Dispatchers and Drivers to maintain consistent performance, safety, and customer service standards.
  • Conduct team briefings to communicate updates, operational priorities, and procedural changes.
  • Address performance issues and collaborate with HR on employee relations matters as needed.
  • Monitor flight schedules and coordinate shuttle assignments to optimize efficiency.
  • Serve as the escalation point for operational issues, including delays, vehicle maintenance, or staffing gaps.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, maintained, and ready for safe operation.
  • Maintain real-time communication with staff using radios, phones, and scheduling tools.
  • Fill in as Dispatcher or Shuttle Driver when needed to maintain seamless service.
  • Support operational coverage during call-outs or absences in coordination with the Transportation Manager.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and operational metrics for management review.
  • Ensure team compliance with airport safety, security, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Investigate and document incidents or operational issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); college coursework or degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation, aviation operations, logistics, or customer service; supervisory experience preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license (REAL ID or TSA-compliant) with a clean driving record.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to obtain airport security clearance.
  • Proficient with scheduling software, radio communications, and basic computer applications.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and a proven ability to solve complex problems efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience managing dispatch operations or professional drivers.
  • Knowledge of airport layout, secure zones, and flight operations.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Operate vehicles and communication equipment; read dispatch logs, flight monitors, and written instructions.

Work Conditions:

 

  • Non-exempt, hourly position; eligible for overtime under federal and company policies.
  • Shift schedules vary, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular operations.
