About this role

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is looking for a Material Handling Laborer to work in Fort Sill, OK. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!


Responsibilities

  • The Material Handling Laborer is assigned to the Maintenance Division.
  • Under the guidance of a Maintenance Supervisor or Lead, the Material Handling Laborer will perform tasks associated with the assigned area such as manually loading on or unloading parts and supplies from commercial or military trucks, or other transporting devices; stacking, unpacking or placing items in proper storage locations. Transporting goods by hand truck, cart, dolly or wheelbarrow.
  • Additional duties include assisting with inventory, issue, customer turn-in and the receiving of parts and supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Army logistical functions.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Ability to receive a favorable Tier 1 Investigation result and obtain/maintain a CAC.
  • Must possess and continuously maintain a current state driver's license.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Work is generally conducted in a shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical.  
  • Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.  Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.
