Le responsable de l'atelier de sécurité est chargé de garantir une exécution stable, disciplinée et prévisible au sein de l'atelier Safety en traduisant le plan de production approuvé et les initiatives d'amélioration continue en actions quotidiennes claires et applicables sur le terrain.

Le tout en favorisant un environnement de travail sûr et efficace, ce poste assure la liaison entre la planification, l'amélioration continue et l'exécution, garantissant la visibilité, la responsabilité, l'escalade rapide et le strict respect de la gouvernance établie.

Rôle :

  • Contrôler le respect des plans de production approuvés, des normes de sécurité et des exigences de qualité.

  • Assurer la supervision globale et la visibilité des activités de production afin de garantir leur conformité avec les objectifs de l'entreprise.

  • Servir de point de contact pour les risques opérationnels, les contraintes et les conflits de priorités.

  • Faciliter la coordination interfonctionnelle entre la production, la planification, la qualité, l'ingénierie et la chaîne d'approvisionnement.

  • Examiner les indicateurs de performance de la production et signaler les écarts ou les tendances à la direction.

  • Collaborer avec les équipes de maintenance, de qualité, d'ingénierie et de chaîne d'approvisionnement pour résoudre les problèmes.

  • Soutenir les initiatives d'amélioration continue, de production allégée et de réduction des coûts.

  • Tenir des registres de production précis et préparer des rapports pour la direction.

One of the main divisions of the AJW Group is AJW Technique, a state-of-the-art component Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility with over 150 experienced and passionate technicians in Montreal.

The Safety Shop Supervisor is responsible for ensuring stable, disciplined, and predictable execution within the Safety Shop by translating the approved production plan and continuous improvement initiatives into clear, enforceable daily shop-floor actions.

While promoting a safe and efficient work environment, this role provides the traction layer between Planning, Continuous Improvement, and Execution, ensuring visibility, accountability, early escalation, and strict adherence to established governance.

Main responsibilities:

  • Monitor adherence to approved production plans, safety standards and quality requirements.

  • Provide overall oversight and visibility of production activities to ensure alignment with company objectives.

  • Act as a point of escalation for operational risks, constraints and priority conflicts.

  • Facilitate cross functional coordination between production, planning, quality, engineering and supply chain.

  • Review production performance indicators and escalate gaps or trends to management.

  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues.

  • Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and cost-reduction initiatives

  • Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports for management.

Exigences:

  • +10 ans d'expérience dans la production, la maintenance, la réparation et l'exploitation (MRO) ou les opérations de fabrication.

  • Diplôme technique ou expérience équivalente dans le domaine de l'aviation, de la fabrication ou des opérations industrielles

  • Une formation pertinente en supervision ou en leadership est un atout

  • Expérience avérée en supervision/direction d'équipe dans un environnement syndiqué.

  • Esprit d'exécution fort, sens aigu des responsabilités et faible tolérance à l'ambiguïté.

  • Capacité avérée à faire respecter la structure, la gouvernance et la discipline en matière d'escalade.

  • Solides compétences en communication et aisance à travailler de manière transversale avec les équipes de planification et d'amélioration continue (CI).

  • Capacité à rester calme, déterminé et autoritaire dans des environnements soumis à une forte pression.

  • Capacité avérée à responsabiliser ses pairs et les techniciens seniors de manière respectueuse et cohérente

  • Haut niveau d'intégrité, de professionnalisme et de discipline opérationnelle

Job requirements:

  • +10 years of experience in production, MRO, or manufacturing operations

  • Technical diploma or equivalent experience in aviation, manufacturing, or industrial operations

  • Relevant supervisory or leadership training is an asset

  • Proven supervisory / cell-lead experience in a unionized environment

  • Strong execution mindset with high accountability and low tolerance for ambiguity

  • Demonstrated ability to enforce structure, governance, and escalation discipline

  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with Planning and CI teams

  • Ability to remain calm, decisive, and authoritative in high-pressure environments

  • Demonstrated ability to hold peers and senior technicians accountable respectfully and consistently

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and operational discipline
