Join our dynamic team at Airgas as a Loader! The Loader at Airgas USA, LLC is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of compressed gas cylinders and other materials onto and off trucks, trailers, and into storage areas. This role is crucial in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining an organized and safe warehouse environment.

Job Duties:

  • Safely load and unload compressed gas cylinders, cryogenic tanks, and other gas products onto and off company vehicles, ensuring proper securing techniques are utilized to prevent damage or shifting during transit.

  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests, invoices, or other documentation to ensure accuracy of product, quantity, and destination.

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move, stack, and store products in designated areas.

  • Inspect cylinders and equipment for damage, leaks, or defects prior to loading or storage, and report any issues to a supervisor.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the loading dock and warehouse areas.

  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, OSHA) related to handling hazardous materials.

  • Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.

  • Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and other team members regarding loading schedules and product availability.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a warehouse or loading/unloading role, preferably with hazardous materials, is a plus.

  • Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Forklift certification is highly preferred or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds frequently and stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying shipments.

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to handling compressed gases and hazardous materials is an asset.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills.

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
