Working Student within A350 Local Chief Engineering - Support (d/f/m)

You are a full time student, looking for a working student position and want to get to know the work of Airbus?  Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in the department A350 Local Chief Engineering as a working student (d/f/m) with approx. 18 hours a week! 

  • Location: Hamburg

  • Start: As soon as possible

  • Duration:  Max. 24 months

You will receive a collectively agreed salary of at least €18.53 per hour, depending on the job. There are also special payments such as vacation pay.

Definition working student

Working students are students who are enrolled at a University or some other institution of higher education, and who are employed in a reasonably long, fixed-term position parallel to their studies. This position must not be confused with an internship or with the possibility of writing a final thesis.

This employment usually takes place directly on the company's premises. A working student's main focus remains on their studies, which is why, during term-time, working students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours per week.

Working students therefore usually work near their place of study, so as to conveniently combine studying and employment.

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Finkenwerder

Are you wondering how you actually get from university to Airbus? Your working student position is at the Finkenwerder plant and you can take the ferry from Teufelsbrück to the Airbus ferry terminal and back to the university in the morning and at noon. Alternatively, you can take the ferry to Finkenwerder and then ride your bike for about another 15 minutes to the main entrance.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal Overall Product Integration in accordance with customer requirements and needs, considering its complete life cycle.

  • Elicit and validate aircraft requirements.

  • Trade candidate architectures and design solutions and select optimum ones versus requirements, including industrialization and manufacturing optimization.

  • Ensure proper management of interdependencies and of functional and physical interfaces.

  • Validate the product development logic and its assurance system towards product maturity.

  • Define the validation and verification strategy and validate compliance demonstration means, including safety and certification at aircraft level; for initial development and for continued evolution of the product, including enhancement beyond airworthiness requirements when necessary.

  • Monitor and evaluate actual behavior in-operation and trigger preventive and corrective design changes to ensure customer requirements are met for the life of the vehicle.

  • Experience with MS Office / G Suite

  • Fluent English

  • German would be a plus
