JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Scheduling Intern, you’ll get hands-on exposure to the fascinating world of airline scheduling. You’ll support our team in building and maintaining AirAsia’s and/or AirAsia X’s flight schedules - balancing operational needs, business goals, and customer experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a fresh graduate to gain real-world experience in network planning, scheduling systems, and airline operations.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN & CONTRIBUTE TO:

  • Schedule Development Support: Assist the team in preparing and reviewing flight schedules, ensuring they are accurate and operationally feasible.

  • Slots Coordination & Management: Learn how airports manage take - off and landing slots, and help the team monitor and update slot information where required.

  • Schedule Publication: Help ensure the latest flight schedules are correctly reflected on airasia.com and our reservation system (Navitaire).

  • Data & Analysis: Work with Excel and other tools to analyze scheduling data, spotting trends and supporting the team in decision - making.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Support communication between scheduling, operations, and commercial teams to keep information aligned and up to date.

  • Special Projects: Get involved in ad-hoc projects such as schedule adjustments for holidays, events, or fleet changes.

  • Inventory & Planning Systems Support: Support the configuration and data migration of the planning system. Housekeeping of the scheduling rules, proof check the raised bugs & other requirements by the team. Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) based on defined scenarios, ensuring data synchronization with the existing planning application. Get hands on experience of real time scheduling strategies and

  • Fresh Graduate or Early Career Starter: You have a degree in aviation, engineering, business, statistics, or a related field - or you’re simply curious about the airline industry and eager to learn.

  • Detail - Oriented & Curious: You enjoy working with data, spotting patterns, and paying attention to details that others may miss.

  • Quick Learner: You may not know everything yet, but you’re excited to pick up new skills - especially in scheduling tools, Excel, and industry systems.

  • Collaborative: You like working in teams, sharing ideas, and supporting others to achieve a common goal.

  • Adaptable: You can stay positive and flexible when plans change (which in aviation, they often do!).
