About this role

The Analysts Team has 7 members. The team is diverse, young and dynamic. The majority is between 27 and 35 years old, but most with more than two years of experience. There are currently two women in the team. We have five different nationalities, so the common communication language is English, but when talking in smaller groups or for informal conversations it is common to use other languages (French, German, Dutch and Spanish). We support more than 50 production sites in 14 different countries.

We will also be part of a larger group, the Brussels End to End Optimization Center, with activities ranging from Production Coordination, Integrated Production and Delivery Planning and Process Improvement.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Mission Summary:

Development of the next phase and application of our Efficiency Monitoring System, both for HyCO (Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide) and ASU (Air Separation Units). Through these systems, you will ensure the assets in our production facilities are operating at their best performance.

You will contribute to this mission by…

  • Developing the new system and indicators to follow up the efficiency of our (HyCO) Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide production units and our Air Separation Units, together with our Process Experts and Senior Analysts.

  • Investigating the cause and impact (economical, environmental) of deviations in the efficiency of our assets and proposing the site teams potential causes and solutions. Some examples of causes of deviations are leakages, inadequate controller or process settings.

  • Monitoring the  mechanical integrity of our assets through our Predictive Analytics Solution, investigating the potential causes and communicating to our experts and production sites to find a solution. Some examples include bearing temperature or vibration increase due to a component, such as a heater, malfunctioning.

  • Refining our efficiency monitoring and predictive analytics by adapting (sometimes retraining) our models when needed.

  • Reporting the benefits of the proposed corrective or improvement actions.

  • Propose improvement ideas, both in the chemical processes as well as in our internal processes.

Why Join Us?

You’ll actively contribute to decrease the greenhouse gas emissions in our processes and witness the implementation and monitor the performance of some of the latest technologies to decarbonize our production, such as carbon capture, electrolyzers for hydrogen production.

You’ll develop your analytical and technical skills, as well as an excellent understanding of the Air Separation Process and the Steam Methane Reforming Process. You will also learn to work in teams in an international environment, how to manage projects, how energy sourcing is managed, and how to prepare effective presentations.

You’ll have an open door to continue to grow in an international company. We have excellent examples of VIEs who have continued their career in Air Liquide after their mission in the Analysts Team, both within Belgium and in other countries, even outside of Europe.
