We are looking for Legal Counsel to provide wide legal support for commercial, designated business activities, and furnish daily advice on local law and regulation related matters.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

  • Provide legal support and advice to entities in emerging countries,(e.g., Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia).
  • Responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and members of the business teams in emerging countries, primarily focusing on contractual aspects of sales and bidding processes, .e.g.: review contract and summaries, negotiating, internal approvals, all stages throughout the contract lifecycle and asset deals.
  • Managing ethics compliance initiatives, conducting fraud training, coordinating investigations of suspicious fraud cases, and independently handling or supporting complex negotiations and disputes.
  • Participate in negotiations, reach agreements, and manage disputes, either independently or with external support.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels, fostering strong working relationships. Provide legal advisory to internal stakeholders and continuously enhance legal advice quality through a deeper understanding of business processes.
  • Perform other ad-hoc legal duties and assignments as requested.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree; LLM or an overseas education background is a plus.
  • Admission to the Bar in Malaysia, Vietnam, or another jurisdiction is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional legal experience.
  • Experience in corporate commercial, regulatory law, and a substantial background in the industrial/manufacturing sector is a plus.
  • Sophisticated legal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, maturity, and good business acumen.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Ability to deal with different legal frameworks (SEA jurisdictions).
