Key duties

  • Review and validate invoices related to transportation, logistics, and duties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Verify taxes and duties applied to shipments; identify discrepancies and ensure proper accounting of charges.
  • Work directly with transportation companies and brokers to investigate and resolve incorrect duty charges, including recovering amounts paid in error.
  • Process and code invoices accurately within department systems, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Monitor transportation and duty related transactions to ensure proper documentation and timely resolution of issues.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries with professionalism, providing clear explanations and effective solutions.
  • Organize and prioritize workload independently, demonstrating the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records to support continuous improvement in transportation and duty management processes.


  • High school graduation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transportation, logistics, customs, or duties management (an accounting background is an asset).
  • Strong knowledge of customs procedures, duties, and international tax considerations.
  • Experience working with transportation companies, freight forwarders, or customs brokers is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Company Policies, and/or Government Regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • High attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Demonstrated punctuality, dependability, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
