As Senior Associate, Data Analyst you will ensure timeous, robust and accurate conception, delivery and ongoing monitoring of analytical products and frameworks. Effective communication between key stakeholders (data science, technology, terminology and data teams) is vital to ensure delivery.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Client Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of the specific healthcare market and its clients. Gather insights into their needs, challenges, and objectives to tailor data analytics solutions effectively.
  • Implementations: Support the implementation of core components within allocated market including rolling out of components, training/understanding of core components and validation. Lead teams in continued support of core components including updates, reworks and maintenance.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Utilize health analytics, data science, data analytics and related skills to analyze healthcare data thoroughly. Extract actionable insights and trends that can be used to improve client outcomes, cost-efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive value generation and delivery.
  • Prototyping: Prototype new analytical modules and features with clients.
  • Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify opportunities where Amplify Health’s data analytics, claims management, AI/ML, or other tools and practices can add value to clients. This may include suggesting new services, cost-saving measures, or innovative solutions.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic recommendations based on data analysis. Provide clear and data-driven insights to clients, helping them make informed decisions for their healthcare initiatives.
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Understand market specific data handling and analytics practices and assist Amplify Health to adhere to healthcare data privacy and compliance regulations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, developers, and subject matter experts (SMEs). Bridge the gap between technical and healthcare domains to translate data insights into actionable strategies. Feedback to core analytic design team on possible product enhancements and new product ideas.
  • Communication: Across the organisation from staff to executive level for key delivery
  • Client Education and Training: Be an advocate for health specific analytics and metrics tracking. Educate clients on the benefits and capabilities of best-in-class data analytics, AI/ML, and claims management within the healthcare context.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with data analytics and AI/ML implementations.
  • Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in healthcare, data analytics, and AI/ML. Continuously seek innovative approaches to solve healthcare challenges and improve client satisfaction.

This role should combine technical expertise with a deep understanding of the healthcare industry to drive value for clients through data-driven solutions.

Additionally, you will be required to contribution to the innovation and product creation process.

Technical understanding

A deep understanding of the technical tools used in healthcare analytics is required as the bases for development of analytical products, as such the following core understandings are required:

  • Deep knowledge and design of patient and population health management tools and levers, provider profiling, healthcare reporting, and other key healthcare technologies etc.
  • Knowledge in basic to advanced risk adjustment and health outcome assessment frameworks
  • Knowledge of clinical tools including coders, groupers, and classifications
  • Knowledge of data science in the healthcare space 
  • Understanding of fraud and operations environment
  • Medical cost management optimisation and outlier assessment frameworks
  • Practical experience in Databricks, SQL, python, and advanced excel
  • Understanding of analytical and solution architecture on cloud.
  • Knowledge of healthcare benefit pricing, product pricing and other actuarial calculations (reserving, risk rating, etc.)
