About the Role
As a key member of the AI/BI team, the Business Intelligence Specialist will play a key role in designing and development of BI solutions to drive data-driven decision-making culture across the organisation. The incumbent will be responsible for the design, implementation, and enhancement of business intelligence solutions under the BI Centre of Excellence (BI CoE), supporting a wide range of business applications. Combining technical acumen with strategic thinking, the role delivers actionable insights that improve performance and enable smarter business outcomes.- Interprets data to generate insights. Uses tools like SQL, Excel, or BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to create dashboards and reports for decision-making.
- Creates user interfaces and dashboards to present data insights. Focuses on usability, interactivity, and clarity of visualizations.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions that drive measurable impact across AIA business units and Group office functions.
- Create reusable BI assets for fast and high-quality delivery across business units.
- Drive cross-functional and cross-geographical collaboration with senior executives and stakeholders.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on BI platforms and methodologies.
- Provide consultancy on BI platform design, implementation, and maintenance
- Maintain appropriate documentation for BI solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost benefits analysis on business intelligence tools.
- Ensure regular communication with AIA Group Offices and local business units.
- Define BI standards and best practices.

Communication Requirements
Internal:
- Collaborate with Data Modeler, Data engineer, Solution Architect, AI teams and business teams
- Regular updates to management and stakeholders
External:
- Liaise with vendors and partners as needed
Minimum Job Requirements
- University/college graduate
- Experience working in a data / BI team
- Proficient in Power BI
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in data / BI development
- Strong foundation in data analytics, including statistical analysis, data modeling, and deriving actionable insights from complex datasets
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques such as Python, R, SQL, and machine learning frameworks is a plus
- Ability to effectively build lasting relationships by demonstrating strong interpersonal and influencing skills throughout all levels of the organization
- Positive towards challenges and able to lead change
- Optimistic; positive attitude; able to work in growing, fast paced and ambitious environment, flexible and adaptable to change
- Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
- Proficient in Mandarin and English
