· Follows appropriate Code Blue notification procedures
· Participates in all regulatory education and survey activities.
· Effectively prioritizes clinical interventions and care
· Basic hygiene and nursing care such as:
Feeding
Bathing
Oral care
Positioning
Ambulating
Bed linen changes
· Patient safety measures
· Vital sign measurement.
· Intake and Output.
· Obtaining/transporting of specimens.
· Feed patients with swallowing difficulties following individual guidelines and orders from speech therapist
· Applies restraint devices, following all requirements for use of and documentation
· Non-sterile dressings/binders.
· Provides oral care.
· Obtains necessary training prior to initial equipment use.
· Assures equipment is in operating order prior to use.
· Uses the following equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s operating instructions. Including, but not limited to:
Ø Blood pressure measurement devices
Ø Thermometers
Ø Scales
Ø Skin pressure relieving devices
Ø Application/management of traction, inmobilizers, CPM
Ø Pulse Oximetry
Ø Bedscales/ chairscales
· Other duties as assigned.
Education/Training/Experience
High school graduate or equivalent
Bilingual (English/Spanish/Vietnamese/Chinese) preferred
Licenses/Certifications
State of California Nursing Assistant Certification
RNA program certification required within 90 days.
Current BLS Card required
