Agropur is looking for a Financial Accounting Specialist to join its team in St‑Hubert for a temporary 15‑month period.
As a Financial Accounting Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of Agropur Canada’s financial statements. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting, you will contribute to the consolidation of Canadian and U.S. results, the analysis and accounting of complex transactions, and the continuous improvement of financial processes. You will also act as a subject‑matter expert within the team, supporting cross‑functional financial activities and participating in strategic projects across the organization.

Salary scale 005: $82,600 to $103,200 (Base salary will be determined based on your academic background, experience, training, and skills related to the position.)
What this role involves:
More specifically, as a Financial Accounting Specialist, your responsibilities include:
Leading the preparation of Agropur Canada’s financial statements, including accounting, tax, and year‑end audit files, as well as monthly balance‑sheet analyses in collaboration with internal teams.
Ensuring the consolidation of U.S. entities, including the import of trial balances, reconciliation of intercompany balances, and review of accounting entries.
Analyzing and overseeing the accounting of commodity hedging programs in the United States, including the preparation of quarterly presentations for senior management.
Analyzing and accounting for provisions related to the CNESST retroactive plan, in collaboration with Human Capital teams.
Managing the accounting of the accounts receivable factoring program, in partnership with Accounts Receivable and Treasury teams.
Supporting business partners within Sales and Marketing, including budget preparation and monitoring for these cost centres.
Contributing to collective agreement negotiations through the preparation and review of financial files and providing support to Human Capital teams.
Reviewing selected bank reconciliations and coaching junior team members and interns within the financial accounting team.
What you need to join our team:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting option
CPA designation
Strong expertise in financial accounting, particularly hedge accounting
Solid knowledge of ERP systems, including Oracle and SAP
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, macros)
Excellent command of English, both spoken and written
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in public accounting firms and/or industry
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail and rigor
Customer‑focused mindset and collaborative approach
