We are looking for a Pre-Sales Application Engineer to provide scientific and technical expertise that supports our clinical customers across Pathology and Genomics. In this role, you help customers understand and successfully adopt Agilent solutions, combining strong laboratory knowledge with clear communication and problem-solving skills.
You collaborate closely with Sales, Field Service, Business Development Management, and other technical teams. You also work in close partnership with your direct technical management, ensuring consistent communication, scientific alignment, and coordinated support to customers and field colleagues.
You help customers and internal teams by providing clear scientific guidance, supporting the opening and closure of technical cases as a Tier 1 specialist, and delivering training, troubleshooting and workflow recommendations. You support demonstrations, evaluations, workflow analyses, and solution definition for both pathology and genomics environments.
You support the implementation of Agilent systems at customer sites, helping verify performance, optimize workflows, and ensure a smooth experience. You act as a bridge between scientific users and engineering teams, contributing field insights that help shape product improvements and future innovations.
As part of the Pre-Sales Application Engineering discipline, you contribute to the sales process by offering scientific guidance from opportunity qualification through technical closure. You help demonstrate Agilent’s value, deliver training sessions, assist with troubleshooting, and explain how our solutions support clinical workflows across Anatomic Pathology and Genomics.
You work on system- and application-level projects with broad objectives and varied scopes. You interact comfortably with a wide range of clinical professionals, including pathologists, geneticists, laboratory managers, histotechnologists, cytotechnologists, molecular technologists, and clinical scientists. Education
Bachelors or equivalent postgraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Pharmacy, or related area.
A postgraduate degree is accepted, but candidates must also demonstrate practical experience beyond purely research-focused roles, such as acting as a technical responsible, technical lead, or laboratory coordinator in clinical workflows.
Experience & Skills
5+ years of relevant experience working as a Field Application Specialist, researcher, consultant, or laboratory contributor in Anatomic Pathology or Genomics clinical environments.
Experience in activities such as:
Experience interacting with diverse clinical and laboratory professionals, including pathologists, geneticists, supervisors, technologists, and managers.
Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate scientific and technical concepts clearly in spoken and written form.
Strong organizational skills and a process-oriented mindset, with the ability to follow structured procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
General proficiency with laboratory tools, systems, and procedures to accomplish the responsibilities of the role.
Knowledge of project management, SAP, or continuous improvement methodologies is valued.
