Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Agilent's SAP Services and Digital Integrations team as SAP Backoffice Support Lead. You will be part of the high-performance SSDI SAP IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting Materials Management (MM) and Production Planning (PP) modules for our SAP landscape. The role involves leading day-to-day support operations, managing vendor’s Backoffice support team, coordinating change requests, guiding vendor resources, and ensuring business continuity through effective system management. This includes SAP ECC, S/4HANA, Ariba, Material Management, Supplier Onboarding, Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO), EHSM, Production Planning, and relevant cloud technologies. The role demands strong leadership, deep functional expertise, and the ability to drive operational excellence across global support functions.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of SAP support analysts and engineers across modules and geographies in handling incidents, service requests, and enhancements and problem management processes.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to procurement, inventory management, material master data, production planning, capacity planning, and shop floor execution.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex SAP BackOffice issues, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder communication. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (FI/CO, SD, QM, WM, PM) to resolve integration issues.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions to recurring problems.

  • Manage change requests, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.

  • Ensure adherence to SLAs for issue resolution and service delivery.

  • Provide user training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to business and IT stakeholders.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including automation, monitoring, and proactive issue detection

  • Manage configuration and support for modules such as APO, EHSM, and PP, ensuring alignment with business processes.

  • Coordinate with SAP and third-party vendors for patching, upgrades, and enhancement deployments.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and security standards.

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, MCA, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in SAP MM and PP module support, including configuration and integration.

  • Strong functional knowledge in procurement, inventory control, MRP, production scheduling, BOMs, routings, capacity planning, SAP Ariba (including SCC, CIG, Contract Management, and Supplier Onboarding), EHSM, APO, Cloud integration technologies, and SAP BTP.

  • Experience in managing enhancement projects or small-scale implementations.

  • Good understanding of end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing processes.

  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA environment is an advantage.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to lead a small team of consultants and ensure efficient support delivery.

  • Proficient in creating presentations and knowledgeable in productivity tools such as PowerPoint, Visio, Microsoft Project, and Excel (knowledge of macros and VBScript is a plus).

Good to have:

  • A robust understanding of ITIL-based Service Delivery and Service Management processes will be beneficial for success in this role.

  • SAP MM/PP certification from SAP.

  • Exposure to integration with SAP Ariba, GATP, GTS will be added advantage.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

This job has a full time weekly schedule.
