As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity, and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help solve customer problems and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service are key to building customer success.

You will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent LC/LCMS systems.

Our product lines include hardware, software, networking products, and operating systems.

  • Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites

  • Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems

  • Performs maintenance and repairs

  • Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance

  • Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.

  • Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software.

  • Train other field engineers and customers on the solutions.

Territory Coverage

  • The ideal candidate will reside in the state of MA and reside in the greater Boston area.

  • The position requires an active driver's license.

  • Company Vehicle Program: Either vehicle mileage reimbursement or a company car is eligible for this territory.

  • Territory: MA and New England States as needed.

  • Travel 35-50% across the state and could include weekend work, overtime, and overnight travel, as needed.

Job Requirement:

Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include, but are not limited to, post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs. Your consent to participate in customer-requested screening is required for this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or other university-level degree in a science-related field (e.g., Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or similar) is highly preferred. Applicants with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may also be considered.

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with LC/LCMS systems, including setup, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance, or instrumentation use as an end user.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to solve high-impact problems related to product availability, typically focused on system or solution-level issues.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Customer Service: Strong customer relationship-building skills are essential.

  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 35- 50% of the time throughout the territory.

  • Other Requirements: A valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least February 4, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $46.13 - $72.08/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
