About this role

About the role

Skills: Python, SQL

At AgileMD, we are building the most advanced real-time predictive analytics and clinical algorithms platform for hospitals. While our products empower doctors and nurses at the point of care, our internal teams depend on streamlined, intelligent workflows to move quickly and make an impact. We’re looking for an Internal Tools & Automation Engineer who will act as a force multiplier across the company. This role builds the connective tissue between systems, automates workflows with AI-enabled tools, and eliminates bottlenecks across sales, finance, customer success, HR, and operations. You’ll help us unlock speed and scale by creating the internal platforms and automations that keep our business running smoothly. This is a high-leverage role for someone who thrives in ambiguous environments, enjoys solving complex process and integration challenges, and takes pride in accelerating the work of others. This position offers significant growth potential for an engineer looking to evolve into a technical leadership role over time, while continuing to stay deeply involved in hands-on execution.

Requirements – You will:

In your first 6–12 months, you’ll:

Build integrations, scripts, and automations to connect disconnected systems (Jira, customer support, finance tools, etc.)

Design lightweight internal applications (SQL-backed, low-code frameworks, or scripts) to replace manual processes

Partner with business teams to scope needs and deliver flexible solutions that they can own and adjust over time

Develop company-level dashboards combining data from CRM, finance, contracts, and product systems

Implement workflow automations using AI-powered tools to accelerate repetitive tasks and reduce friction

Requirements – Who you are:

3–5+ years of software engineering or related technical experience, comfortable working across different systems, frameworks, and problem domains

Strong scripting skills (Python required; Bash or equivalent helpful)

Deep SQL skills and comfort working with databases (queries, permissions, schema design)

Hands-on experience building and deploying system integrations (REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, glue code, middleware)

Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and deployment practices

Knowledge of workflow automation and low-code frameworks (Retool, Airtable, Zapier, etc.)

Comfortable configuring/administering tools like Jira, HubSpot, Slack, or customer support platforms

Curious and resourceful: able to quickly learn new systems, experiment, and self-teach

Strong collaborator who can bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation

Excited about the possibilities of AI-powered workflow automation and integrating LLMs into business systems

Benefits

Work with a team that you can rely on, that constantly challenges you and that gives the tools to succeed and the responsibility to prove that you can.

$120,000 - $160,000, 0.25% - 0.5% equity (depending on experience and skills)

Health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family

Paid time off (12 holidays plus as much vacation as you need; most people take three or four weeks per year)

Flexible parental leave (subject to state and local requirements)

$500 per quarter for self-directed personal development (books, conference tickets, etc.)

Join a team that is remote first and is set up for you to succeed from wherever you work. 100% of our team is remote.
