Job Role / Responsibilities:

Reporting to Manager / Assistant Manager of your assigned section, you will be required to perform Clinical and Bio-chemical tests as per the departmental policy / procedure manual on a daily basis to ensure quality service and timely preparation of the final reports. You will be responsible to:

  • perform clinical tests independently according to the standard operating procedures and ensure quality of results
  • participate in staff training, according to laboratory guidelines and also participate in educational opportunities
  • assist supervisor in the implementing the safety standards according to Laboratory Safety Guidelines
  • confirm unusual findings with the senior technologist / Charge Technologist /Pathologist to avoid any misleading results going out to the patients as and when required.


Requirements:

You should have:

  • a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Masters’ degree will be preferred
  • one year traineeship at the Clinical Laboratory at AKU or two to three years of relevant experience preferably in a laboratory or hospital thorough knowledge of laboratory testing procedures
  • good written and verbal communication skills
  • willingness to work in shifts .
