The AKDN (Aga Khan Development Network) Digital Health Resource Centre (dHRC) is an initiative that leverages Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to improve healthcare access, quality, cost, efficiency, and safety, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. It supports service delivery and research projects in Asia and Africa and focuses on building capacity for healthcare providers. The Innovation Lab within dHRC develops and tests low-cost, high-impact health solutions.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Job Role / Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

  • develop front-end and back-end components
  • Integrate AI features and Python services
  • fix bugs and improve application performance
  • participate in code reviews and agile ceremonies
  • ensure application security and quality standards
  • develop and integrate AI-powered features using Python
  • build and consume secure REST APIs
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams for requirements gathering
  • perform basic testing and debugging
  • maintain documentation and follow best practices
  • maintain and update application databases and tools to provide client support
  • understand and assist in the application database schema.


Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

You should have:

  • a bachelor’s degree in computer science
  • relevant certifications in network security, MERN stack (ES6 and React), UX design, and project management essentials
  • at least one year of relevant experience in full-stack development (front-end and back-end)
  • strong knowledge of asp.net, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core, and web APIs
  • experience working with SQL Server or other relational databases
  • experience with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • strong experience using Python for back-end services and AI integration
  • hands-on experience with AI concepts and API-based AI services
  • a basic understanding of software testing practices
  • knowledge of git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodology.
