The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is the academic department of the University to support wide range in-patient and outpatient women’s healthcare services pertinent to general obstetrics and gynaeoclogy, lactation consultancy, family planning and parenting education. In addition to the core services, department also caters to wide range of specialized services such as Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogyneoclogy and Pediatrics & Adolescent gynaeoclogy. The department also offers formal post graduate training programs of residency and fellowship in Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Urogynecology and Gynecologic Oncology.

The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Manager (Academics) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for overseeing, planning, and coordinating all academic activities including curriculum development, faculty coordination, scheduling, and regulatory compliances. This role ensures smooth execution of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs in line with academic standards and institutional goals. He/she will be responsible to lead the rolling out of departmental academic strategic plan.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • coordinating, managing, and implementing academic programs
  • facilitating student support by rolling out academic mentoring, orientation, exams, and rotations; engaging with students to address grievances and developing mediation measures
  • ensuring adherence to institutional, regulatory, and accreditation requirements; preparing documentation for accreditation, inspections, and academic audits
  • managing data, reporting, and planning for the department, governing bodies, and accrediting agencies
  • acting as the primary point of contact for interdepartmental coordination between academic and administrative units


Requirements:

You should have:

  • Master’s Degree, diploma in project/research management /human resource /finance will be an added benefit
  • a minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in healthcare academics, with at least five years in a management role
  • excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to describe complex ideas in clear and meaningful ways to various audiences
  • ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • resilience and the ability to cope with work pressure and stringent deadlines
  • demonstrated ability to work in a professional, multidisciplinary team as a group leader, facilitator, and/or participant
  • ability to manage multitasking and perform well under pressure
