About this role
Aerothreads is a fast-growing company in the Aerospace industry that specializes in the design, fabrication, and installation of Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) blankets. We are looking for summer interns who are excited about the aerospace and/or manufacturing industry that are motivated to work hard and learn over a 12 week program in Riverdale, MD. The Fabrication Intern will support the fabrication team in the creation of MLI blankets in our state of the art clean room.
Required Eductation, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma and at least two years progress towards a degree (rising Junior) in Fine Arts, Fashion, Costume Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- Willingness to work in a clean room facility wearing PPE each day.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment for creating high quality products.
- Sewing and/or pattern making skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a highly collaborative team.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create material sample boxes for marketing purposes.
- Assist with bulk blanket layups.
- Support labeling and bagging products.
- Inventory support.
- Simple fabrication of sample blankets.
Aerothreads Internship Program:
- Paid $15/hour
- 12 weeks June - August
- Up to 40 hours per week - in person
- Learning environment with exposure to multiple departments
