Senior Frontend Engineer

The Checkout Personalize team builds and operates Adyen’s Personalize product, which custom‑tailors the checkout flow to each shopper in real time. The team is developing a core machine-learning model that optimizes the ranking and display of payment methods based on granular shopper‑level signals. Beyond automation, Personalize empowers businesses by providing merchant‑facing dashboards and settings to fine-tune the experience, along with powerful experimentation tools that allow merchants to test and discover their best-performing checkout strategies. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll own complex technical projects end to end to build frontend features and functionality.

What you’ll do

• Bring your own point of view on best engineering practices. 


• Collaborate across teams and time zones to get projects over the finish line.


• Lead complex technical projects from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing and launch into production.


• Be hands on and contribute to the implementation, but at the same time offer technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.


• Identify and improve parts of the platform to make it more robust and scalable.


• Your code will be used at scale and you are expected to think in that mindset when building features.


• We launch fast and iterate often. Concretely, this means that within your first few weeks, you will bring live functionalities that impact many merchants and shoppers.

Who you are

• You have 7+ years of software engineering experience.


• You have experience with building things in JavaScript and using a framework (Vue.js or Preact is a plus).


• You recognize yourself in the Adyen Formula: being open minded, having a proactive attitude, always trying to make it work while keeping the bigger picture in mind.


• You actively share your knowledge and enthusiasm to develop yourself and your team.


• You are comfortable with asking and receiving constructive feedback from your colleagues regularly.


• You are able to independently gather technical requirements and create a plan to execute those requirements.


• You are a strong team player. You like to connect and communicate in person with your team members and other stakeholders to come to the best solution.
