Job Responsibilities:

· Maintain control of the conversion of caprolactam through hydrolysis and poly condensation, extrusion, leaching, and drying, finishing into blending and packaging.

· Maintain control of multiple utility systems to support the operation areas.

· Monitor control information for an area and make adjustments as necessary to operate equipment and facilities, ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures.

· Maintain safety standards at all times and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary.

· Responsible for preventing spills and adhering to our commitment to protect the environment

· Perform minor maintenance work

· Additional responsibilities as needed


Basic Qualifications:

· Minimum high school diploma/GED

· 3+ years of manufacturing experience or an Associate’s Degree or higher in a technical or science related field

· Must be willing and able to work a 8-hour rotating shift environment that includes holidays, weekends, and required overtime

· Proficiency with a computer, including programs such as Word and Excel

· Must be able to complete a background check and drug test successfully

· Must have strong communication skills

· Must be willing and able to work in a team environment

· Must meet minimum physical requirements needed to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation


Preferred Qualifications:

· 3 – 5 yrs. of chemical plant experience preferred

· Experience working in control room operations operating from Distributed Control Systems

· Ability to understand a multi-step chemical process

· Previous experience testing samples in a lab

· Previous experience operating a forklift

· Have a strong work ethic and adapt quickly to new processes

· Ability to create and maintain a safe work space based on company standards

· Ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action within an industrial setting

· Ability to communicate through multiple layers of an organization


Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift and move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs., and exert up to 75 pounds pull

· Ability to wear protective equipment for extended periods such as hard hats, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, hot suits, etc.

· Ability to work with hazardous materials

· Ability to work alone and in isolated areas, work around hot surfaces and high temperatures

· Ability to work at elevated heights - greater than 50 feet, and in confined spaces with appropriate PPE

· Required to work on uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces and in adverse weather conditions (cold, hot, humid, rain, snow, etc.)

 

The hourly rate for this position is $25.63
