We are looking for a Stereotactic Biopsy and Mammograph Technologist to join our team. The pay range for this role will depend on experience and qualifications. 


 

Position Summary:

The Stereotactic Biopsy Mammography Technologist performs screening and diagnostic mammograms as well as stereotactic biopsies.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs all duties of a Mammography Technologist.
  • Demonstrates operating knowledge of mammographic and biopsy equipment
  • Responsible for setting up and performing stereotactic biopsies.
  • Reviews all necessary documentation to perform procedures. 
  • Performs QC as required by MQSA.
  • Performs preventative visual and manual inspections of equipment ensuring appropriate maintenance and cleanliness. 
    • Assures procedures are performed in accordance with policies and procedures.
    • Performs warm up calibration procedures necessary to prepare the equipment for patient imaging. 
    • Performs related clinical and clerical duties associated with the patient procedure. 
    • Collaborate with the radiologists to ensure the highest level of operational efficiency and quality standards.
    • Contributes to a positive climate and open communication for a team approach. 
    • Assists in the procurement of all necessary supplies. 
    • Maintains certifications and licensure. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in patient care and exceptional customer service.
  • Superior knowledge of mammography and biopsy techniques and imaging skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in fast paced, highly professional environment. 
  • Extensive computer background with strong application understanding, especially RIS/PACS software knowledge.
  • Strong desire to learn and eager to take on new responsibilities.
  • Proven

 Educational Requirements:

  • College degree preferred
  • ARRT (R)(M) and CT State License required 

Physical demands/Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a radiology department. Work may require sitting or standing for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for supplies. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to palpate, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Lifting up to 30 pounds may be required. Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate a keyboard and other office equipment is required. Operating knowledge of radiographic equipment is mandatory. Contact with patients, interaction with physicians, and office staff is constant.
