THE ROLE: 

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s products, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development. 

 

THE PERSON: 

As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive scalable and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary to define products, develop solutions, assess root causes, and produce solution resolutions. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Driving technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across product development and validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional initiatives

  • Debugging issues found during the SOC (System on a Chip) programs bring-up, validation, and production phases

  • Working with multiple teams and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time

  • Working closely with supporting technical teams

  • Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworks

  • Leading collaborative approaches with multiple teams

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Object-oriented programming experience, preferably in Python or similar languages

  • You should have a strong general knowledge of computer hardware architecture such as;

    • Explicit understanding of the role GPUs play in computer architecture (personal computing AND/OR Data Centers)

    • Processors, Cache, Memory

    • Physical components of a personal computer

    • Data traffic and management

    • High Speed Interfaces and Interconnects

  • Knowledge of OS architecture (BIOS, firmware, kernel and driver)

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
