THE ROLE:

The AMD Platform Sourcing Organization optimizes the supply chain for developing AMD’s compute servers and networking hardware. We manage procurement, supplier development, logistics, and fulfillment, working closely with TPM, PM, and R&D to enable efficient platform development for AMD AI solutions.

THE PERSON:

The Mechanical Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, risk, and supplier performance. The role requires:

· Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively manage suppliers and internal stakeholders.

· Strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to interpret data, assess risks, and make informed decisions.

· Supplier relationship management to drive performance, resolve issues, and support long-term partnerships.

· Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to address technical, supply, and commercial challenges.

· Detail-oriented and organized execution to manage complex sourcing activities and multiple concurrent projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· BOM & Design Process Expertise: Deep understanding of BOM structures and mechanical design processes for sheet metal, chassis, and packaging in server and rack environments.

· Analytical & Communication Excellence: Advanced analytical skills, clear executive communication, and strong storytelling with data.

· Execution & Ownership: Expert multitasking, time management, and proactive ownership from issue identification through root cause and closure.

· Structured Project Control: Use structured tracking tools/dashboards for visibility, progress, and accountability.

· Collaboration & Influence: Effective cross-team collaboration; ability to influence stakeholders and suppliers to optimal outcomes.

· Drive for Results: Consistently exceeds expectations with attention to detail, quality of deliverables, and commitment to operational excellence.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

· Experience in the ODM/OEM Manufacturing or Server System Solution industry.

· Direct experience in supply chain function is a plus.

· Experience working across global regions and cultures; Asia supply base management preferred.

· Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, including but not limited to the ability to analyze data using pivots and V-Lookups.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial, Technology Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.

· Proficiency in English and bilingual in Mandarin preferred.

· Proficiency in procurement and supply chain principles and skills.
