THE ROLE:

 

As a Senior Technical Program Manager (Software) in AMD's Networking Technology and Solutions Group (NTSG), you will explore the potential of Networking Solutions to address real-world challenges and collaborate with product management, customers, software and hardware engineering teams and operations within AMD.

 

You will represent NTSG within AMD and external forums. You will partner closely with senior engineering, product, and business leaders to drive execution excellence, operational rigor, and predictable outcomes across the organization. You will serve as the owner of complex engineering programs spanning concepts through execution and delivery. You will drive strategic direction, governance, and oversight across critical initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, product roadmaps, and customer commitments.

 

THE PERSON:

As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you will drive delivery of software releases, drivers, tools, and platform support for AI NICs, AI System Software, other products in the portfolio. You bring a strategic mindset combined with deep execution expertise, enabling you to scale processes, influence across organizational boundaries, and mentor program leaders. You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments and have a proven track record of driving cohesive, cross-domain solutions across Business, Hardware, Firmware, Software, and Platform teams while maintaining a strong customer focus.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership and governance for multiple, concurrent programs and portfolios based on executive and senior technical guidance
  • Define program vision, success metrics, and execution frameworks that align Software engineering delivery with business and product strategy
  • Partner with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads, Product management and Engineering leadership to scope technical feasibility, clarify requirements, and assess tradeoffs for new products and initiatives
  • Oversee development of integrated program schedules that account for driver, software stack, hardware, and firmware dependencies, and ensure appropriate resourcing and prioritization across teams
  • Establish and maintain best-in-class program management artifacts including plans of record, statements of work, timelines, budgets, scope, performance metrics, and quality KPIs
  • Ensure excellence in capacity planning, resource allocation, and dependency management across organizations
  • Lead proactive risk management at the portfolio level, identifying systemic risks, mitigation strategies, and cost-avoidance opportunities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary interface to senior executives, providing clear communication, escalation, and decision support across Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Engineering organizations
  • Drive continuous improvement in program management processes, tools, and operating cadence across the organization

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • You are comfortable with a multi-project, fast paced environment
  • Experience driving technical programs with customers, especially large Cloud providers. 
  • Understanding of  AI System software for management, Day 0- Day 2 Operations, Network Operating System (NOS) e.g., SONiC, networking technology
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex discussions into clear action plans and executive-level communications
  • Proven executive communication skills with the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders
  • Highly analytical, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven leadership style
  • Exceptional interpersonal and people-leadership skills, including experience leading and mentoring program managers
  • Experience operating in high-pressure environments with competing priorities and aggressive delivery timelines
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, and Excel
  • Deep experience with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Working experience or strong familiarity with software development components (compilers, libraries, automation tools, QA), lifecycle management, and Linux-based environments
  • Strong expertise in requirements management, documentation management, and defect management at scale
  • Strong relevant Software experience

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
