Server Performance Automation Engineer

THE ROLE:

AMD’s EPYC CPU design team is looking for an outstanding candidate to build tools that enable automatic performance analysis of server CPUs and contribute towards advanced data management and analytics capabilities.

THE PERSON:

Successful candidates in this role have a passion for tooling, automation, data analytics, visualization, along with excellent collaboration, and communication skills, ability to work independently and come up with creative solutions to challenging engineering problems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop tools for automatically collecting performance data for a variety of contemporary server applications, spanning Enterprise, Cloud and HPC segments.

· Innovate to deliver solutions that can handle a large variety of workloads and hardware platforms, while enabling rapid turn-around on server performance studies.

· Collaborate with the post-silicon performance architecture teams to help quickly zero-in on performance optimization opportunities.

· Explore and deploy machine learning techniques to improve quality of insights from large volumes of automatically generated performance data.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· Excellent programming skills (Python, Linux shell scripting, Windows Power Shell)

· Experience using statistical techniques for data analysis; machine learning is a plus

· Experience with automation technologies such as Ansible

· Familiarity with server system architecture.

· Familiarity with server workloads (such as SPECCPU, SPECJbb2015, HPC, etc)

MIN REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

· BTech / M. Tech in Computer Science/Engineering and at least 3 years (post M.Tech) or 5 years (post B.Tech) of relevant experience
